About Food Rescue Collaborative

Food Rescue Collaborative operates regionally to create efficiencies in the food distribution system. FRC provides pathways for member agencies to improve their ability to serve the local community by leveraging data and partnerships to support knowledge sharing between groups.

The agencies involved in the Food Rescue Collaborative are a diverse group of organizations in the regional food chain, with their own models and principles of addressing food equity and hunger.

We share the common basic beliefs:

  • Food is a human right and access to healthy food is a priority

  • Hunger is a complex problem that requires collaboration to change the status quo

  • Solutions that create smart regional partnerships along the whole of the food chain are essential

  • The food chain includes farmers, fishers, food producers, wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers--and, most importantly, the voices of the communities we serve

  • The potential environmental impacts of our actions are part of our decision making
